Action Packaging

With a desire to improve manufacturing technology and a need for increased space to improve office and plant flows, Action Packaging selected First Companies to assist with their real estate and construction requirement, as well as helping them to receive the first tax abatement granted by Caledonia Township. Located on 6.7 acres in the Southbelt Industrial Park, this 109,000 square foot facility houses Action’s manufacturing operations and serves as their corporate headquarters.

“We just thought the location with the new M-6/South Beltline was ideal for our customers east, west and south,” Butch Stoner said. “Our new facility, in addition to increasing capacity, will be configured more efficiently and allow us to better utilize the principles of lean manufacturing.”

The building incorporates a hybrid of construction methods with a pre-engineered structure and precast concrete panels. Other features include Dri-Design™ metal panels, clerestory windows that align with the reveals in the precast, ten truck docks, dramatic glass detailing in the reception area, and two overhead doors for shipping and receiving.
